It is a green-colored, reliable virus cleaning program, it can be used alone or as a secondary antivirus. My own experiences:
Actually, I wasn’t using Smadav on my own computer, but I installed and used it because I was curious about how it works and its features. I have used it for 1 year, especially because it is a real experience. Now I am sharing my experiences with you.
The program definitely does not strain the computer, meaning there is never any slowdown. In this regard, I can say it is useful. On the other hand, the free version is quite sufficient; I have never been exposed to a virus attack. For a year, I tested the program’s virus detection ability by plugging in USB flash drives that contained viruses. It really catches every single virus without missing any. In many articles I have read, they say Smadav should not be used as a standalone antivirus, but I definitely think they are wrong.
There is a menu called Tools. When I opened this menu, I didn’t see the kind of tools you find in other antivirus programs. Instead, I saw tools that I had never encountered before and were unfamiliar to me, with only their names and shortcut extensions displayed. However, when clicking on them, I did not see any tool actually running. But I am sure they are running in the background because the names of actual tool file extensions are included. For example, Dashboard.Services.exe is one of them. There are 5 more tools like this.
The program currently has the 2026 version, which I am using. If you update as well, your security shield will strengthen proportionally.
