How to download Adobe Flash Player Installation File

adobe flash player

Here’s how to download the Adobe Flash Player offline installer.

As you are likely aware, back in 2020 Adobe said that they were ending support for Adobe Flash Player. That then went live in 2022 and that was the end of that. No more support, no more updates and crucially, no more downloading Adobe Flash Player installers from Adobe’s website.

The even worse news than that is how the installer Adobe actually provided was not the installer at all-it was an online installer-requiring a constant connection to Adobe’s servers for the installation to actually finish. Those servers have been removed, and therefore any online installer you may have found in an online web archive will not download successfully nor will it actually install correctly. The software you actually need is an offline installer. Adobe removed that download, like all others, along with their support.

This leaves many people at an impasse. You need the software and you cannot find a downloadable installer from Adobe online that either isn’t just a useless online version or that you would want to run on your system.

Well, fortunately, there is a solution and if you continue reading I’ll tell you exactly what it is.

Here is what you can actually do.

We are not going to send you to some sketchy third-party website that has a sketchy download button and twelve pop up ads. No, what we are going to do is give you a link to a web archive of the official Adobe download page. The same page, the same downloads, just the internet version has been archived. This is good news as this means you are getting the original installer from Adobe and not one that some guy online has created. No malware or other suspicious content worries.

Once you go to the page you will see download buttons that lead you to the last version of Photoshop that Adobe officially releases. This also means you will download an offline installer, which is exactly what you need.

A couple of things you need to know before you download:

  1. The installer will probably give you issues on Windows 10 and 11. You will want to run it in compatibility mode. Search on Google for “how to run a program in compatibility mode windows 10″ and follow the simple instructions.
  2. This part is a must: make sure you download the 64-bit version. On Windows 10 and 11 the 32-bit will not work. It does not matter if you are on Windows 7 and 8; either will do.

So how is this download actually going to happen?

This link will take you directly to a page where it’s archived and you will be able to select which OS you use click and then download. Seriously, that is literally all there is to it. What will be downloaded to your computer is an .exe file which is Adobe’s official installer which is of course safe and nothing dodgy inside and then you can install without fear of what’s lurking within, the page where the installer is located you will also notice a number of options regarding online installers also, DO NOT, it’s not going to work because, as I said earlier, the servers that the online installers need in order to install the Flash Player are no longer working, but stick with the .exe installer as it will give you a fully installed Flash Player.

Another useful tip for those wanting Flash Player to play games on their computers:

As the most common and maybe the only reason anyone would want Flash Player is now to play old Flash games then I would like to note that there is another option you can actually install browser extensions that will play Flash without needing a full installation of Flash Player, maybe even the best way forward if you can’t always play things because they don’t work or not properly when it comes to games but feel free to follow the above for a full install of the latest compatible Flash Player, whichever way you wish to do it is still a successful option. Hopefully this has helped and I look forward to seeing comments!
