VLC for Mac OS X

Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later is needed for VLC media player. Any Mac with a 64-bit Intel or Apple Silicon CPU can run it. Older releases are compatible with earlier devices.

Please take note that support for the first generation of Intel-based Macs with Core Solo or Core Duo processors has ended. Use the 2.0.10 version that is linked below.

Please refer to this official Apple support document for assistance in locating the appropriate package that corresponds to the processor architecture of your Mac. Another option is to set up a Universal Binary.
